2009 Long Session of the NC General Assembly 

1) HB 1305 - The Beach Plan

HB 1305 is an act to make changes to the Coastal Property Insurance Pool, presently known as the Beach Plan.  Among many critical changes to current regulations, this legislation would provide for surcharges of five percent for separate wind and hail coverage, ten percent for wind and hail homeowners coverage, and a minimum named storm wind and hail deductible of one percent for coverage written by the association.  It would provide surcharges on commercial and dwelling coverage in addition to surcharges currently imposted on homeowners policies.  The legislation would delete the time limit for the Commissioner to disapprove a Rate Bureau filing.  You can follow updates regarding this legislation and read the bill in full at the link below.

2) SB 660 - Auto Insurance/Dimunition in value

3) SB 749 - Revise UM/UIM liability coverage requirements
